So we just bought 6 personal size watermelons for $.50 each about a week ago. I wasn't quite sure how to use them before they went bad. Here is what I finally did. I decided to slice them into various chunk sizes, put them in the FoodSaver bags, then toss them in the freezer for summer outings. We will be putting these into our cooler on long bike rides during the blistering Phoenix summer, for 4th of July festivities away from home, and any other time we can use a refreshing treat. Our younger daughter can't touch watermelon, so we did the same with fresh pineapple as well. Grapes are another frozen treat we love. Here are a couple of pictures of my watermelon process.
Gradually trying to step back a few generations to a slower-paced, less chaotic time. Family, education, cooking, cleaning, technology, holiday, religious, and other subjects to help make daily life less of a chore.
