This is our dinner from tonight. It was so simple and quite filling. It's actually more servings than what I put on here, but we are a pasta/veggie loving family so we had more than "suggested" ;)
I put a Tablespoon of Olive Oil in my skillet and put half of the chicken in. I add a Tablespoon or so of water towards the end to get all of the goodness off of the bottom of the skillet. :)
I cooked the pasta according to the package, drained the water, then put the alfredo sauce in the pot. After I mixed the pasta through the sauce to coat evenly, I put it in a 9 X 13 pan. (Good tip for jarred sauces, put some drained pasta in the jar and mix around to get stubborn sauce out!)
Place the chicken on top of the pasta and put in oven to keep warm. I added a tiny bit of cheese over the pasta, but that is a little overboard ;)
Voila! A delicious dinner with leftovers!
1 jar Ragu Garlic Alfredo sauce: $.50
4 chicken breasts from 3lb (about 12 breasts) bag of chicken ($3.77): $1.25
French style green beans: $.25/can
Peas: $.20/can
Total for whole dinner: $2.59
Each serving (6): $.43
Cheap and FILLING dinner!
